PodCasting

I used PodOmatic to make my first podcast.  I did a basic introduction about what I do in the district.  It can be found here.

What challenges and potential benefits can you see in utilizing podcasting technology in the classroom?
I think the biggest challenge would be the same as many projects: finding the time to fit it in the schedule and to listen to all of them.

Although we often use podcasts to convey information to our students, what are the benefits of having students develop their own podcasts?
Having students develop their own podcasts will help them feel comfortable to do them later on in college or their careers.

How can you incorporate the concept of long term student podcasting in your curriculum (students recording a series of podcasts over the course of a semester)?

You could give them a series of subjects to record about.  It would be a compilation of what they learned throughout the semester and how they have used prior information to learn new.

  1. I agree...finding the time to implement podcasts in the curriculum is difficult, let alone reviewing 150 of them.

  2. It is very time consuming, but a fun way for the students to learn and project their own knowledge.
